The town of Kensington was incorporated in 1894 in that name after previously having been named Knowles Station and Kensington Park. Antique Row is one of the oldest antique businesses in the entire Metropolitan Washington DC area.
Commuter access to downtown is available at the Forest Glen Metro stop and at the MARC train station located at 10417 Howard Avenue.
