According to MapQuest with acres is 7.52 miles from the White House and a 22 min. drive. Woodacres (tax records will read Woodacres) is a neighborhood located in Bethesda, Maryland. It is bordered by Cromwell Drive to the east, River Road to the north, Goldsboro Road to the west, and Massachusetts Avenue to the south.
Residential real estate in Wood Acres is much sought-after largely because of the commuity atmosphere. The neighborhood is an easy commute to downtown Washington via River Road or Massachusetts Avenue by car or bus. It is a remarkably family-friendly neighborhood, where the streets are generally quiet. Families stroll the neighborhood and block parties and neighborhood events are commonplace.
Woodacres is near two shopping areas: the Westbard Shopping Center, with a Giant, Starbucks, CVS pharmacy, and other shops. The Shops at Sangamore is also nearby, with grocery, bakery, restaurant, etc.
The public schools are Woodacres Elementary School, Thomas Pyle Middle School and Walt Whitman High School.
Built by Albert Walker in the 1940s, Woodacress real estate consists of 436 homes. Many of the families living in the neighborhood outgrow their homes and are hard-pressed to find such a community-centered area to which to relocate. Often the three bedroom colonials have been expanded to include more living space, even though the small lots limit the expandability.
