Testimonials
Dear Tom,
Thank you so much for seeing me through the transition that I thought was impossible. You were so patient with me through all the time it took for me to actually adjust to the reality of moving from my home of so many years. You guided me through the whole process and held my hand whenever I needed it. I will continue to tell everybody I know that you are the best.

Dear Rebecca,
Shortly after my dear wife Dottie died, it didn't take long for my daughters and I to select you as a real estate agent to sell my home. For years we had known about your success in selling properties in the Wyngate community.
From our first meeting we were impressed with your thoroughness in communicating the details and options of how to sell the property. We were more impressed that within two days of advertising and holding an open house for interested parties, you had three competitive buyers.
You guided us through ways to select the buyer based on their financial assets which resulted in a quick sale and $40 thousand more than we anticipated. We were pleased with the smooth process of how you handled all the details for the settlement.
With many thanks for your open, friendly and professional manner in dealing with our sale.
Sincerely,
Richard C. Davis

Dear Rebecca,
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you on our behalf for the great service that you provided us. The fact that our house sold in 4 days doesn't tell the whole story. You are a true professional in how you approached every aspect of the sale. Your knowledge of the market was certainly a key to success but your business sense and savy in dealing with the potential buyers allowed us to obtain the best contract under the circumstances. You also provided us with detailed information on apartments and assistance with other moving issues. I expected a high quality real estate agent when we chose you and you did not disappoint.
Thank you,
Michael and Mona
Tom was very flexible and willing to work with our busy schedules. He took us to several houses upfront to get a feel of what we were looking for and then did the extra legwork to check out homes that fell within our general criteria to confirm it was actually something worth seeing. Once we found our dream home, Tom worked with all the parties to help us close quickly. We absolutely love our new home! Thank you Tom! Cameron and Dan
Dear Rebecca,
We just wanted to thank you for everything you have done for us, 2010 was a very difficult year for us because of the fire that destroyed our home. The first several months of the year were exhausting as we were forced to store our belongings and take inventory of everything damaged. By mid year we were ready to sell our place and try and find something nice to settle down in. As you know, this was very a very emotional task for us as we had spent 10+ years in our condo
You made everything so easy for us Rebecca. After meeting with you that Sunday evening and giving you a sense of what we were looking for, both Michael and 1 Were shocked at how quickly you were able to assess our needs and by the next weekend we saw 14 properties, 12 of which were spot on as far as what we were looking for. In fact, the town home we ended up buying was one of the ones we visited on that first rendezvous with you!
The most impressive part of our business with you was the fact that we worked directly with you and you made yourself very accessible to us. In the past I have had to play phone tag or leave long messages with an assistant or receptionist. Oftentimes the messages were miscommunicated which always causes more issues, This NEVER occurred with you You updated us regularly and were very patient with us. We never could have gotten through all this without you.
We are SO SO HAPPY in our new home and 'feel very fortunate to have met you and worked with you. We now consider you a close friend of the family! Please don't hesitate to come by and visit us (and of course Cleo also!)
Warm regards,
Anita, Michael and Cleo Rice
Dear Tom,
When you were referred to us, we were about at the end of our rope. We were ready to give up on the real estate community. But, after a few visits with you, we saw that, by making only a few strategic changes, we might start to see some different results. And then it happened! Like magic! Not really, more like good common sense and applied expertise. Whatever it was, we are thrilled to have met you and consider you now one of the family.

Dear Rebecca,
We just wanted to take a minute and thank you again for selling our house on Oxford Street. Given the current market conditions, your ability to market our home and find a buyer in such a relatively short period of time was remarkable. We truly appreciate your attention to detail and persistence in ensuring that once under contract, the deal closed in an efficient manner. Your guidance and consistent communication throughout the process made everything much easier for us.
This is the third time that you have helped us with buying or selling a house and each time you have taken great care of us! We will continue to recommend you to anyone we know that is looking to buy or sell a home. Take care and thank you again for all your help.
Sincerely,
Ted & Tracey Patch
Dear Tom,
Thank you for your persistence, diligence, stamina and professionalism. All of those qualities are deeply appreciated. You helpled me find the ideal place for my move from Bethesda out to Potomac. I know the going was tough for a while and it seemed like it would never come together, but you stayed with it and performed as promised. Like a real pro. Count on me for a referral whenever you need one!

Dear Rebecca,
We want to thank you so much for the exceptional service that you provided to us during the purchase and sale of our home! When we first met with you to learn about Bethesda, we found that you had an incredible knowledge and understanding of the area. This was extremely helpful as we made our decision about relocating to Maryland. Your email updates about new listings were very helpful and guaranteed that we would not miss finding the perfect home.
During the house hunting process, you asked just the right questions to find the area that would suit our family best. You knew what we wanted in a home, and you were able to help us critically analyze each property to determine if it was the right fit. Coming from a much smaller, much slower market in South Carolina, it was comforting to know that you had so much experience with the D.C. area real estate market. You were able to educate us about situations and circumstances that are unique to the area. You also advised us perfectly in bidding on our home, helping our offer to be the best one in a multiple offers situation.
As you know, the decision to return to South Carolina was a difficult one, but we appreciated so much your personal and professional advice as we made our decision. There was never any thought given to using a different agent for the sale of our home. We knew that you had the experience and knowledge to guide us through a difficult and changing market. Your staging suggestions, pricing of the property, and marketing of our home were key in drawing in so many interested buyers in such a short time. With the downturn in the market, it was astounding to get so many offers (and a contract) in less than a week.
Thank you again for your professionalism and kindness. It was a true pleasure to work with you, and we wish you continued success!
Sincerely,
Dr. David and Mrs. Sarah Everman
Dear Rebecca.
I'll do my best to thank you without going too far over the top! We are now settled in our new home and as we look back on our house selling process we are simply amazed at what a phenomenal job you did in helping us.
When we decided to move, the housing market had just softened and the credit crisis was in full bloom. Consequently, we knew that we couldn't afford missteps in selling our house. Having remembered well how professional you were when we first bought our house from you and your clients 17 years ago, and having seen how many properties in our neighborhood that you've sold over the years, we knew immediately that we wanted to work with you to give ourselves every advantage in this challenging market. We were not disappointed. In fact, despite high expectations, you impressed us repeatedly with your management of every aspect of this complex process. You were very clear about what we needed to do to prepare our house for sale, when it needed to be done, and, importantly, what we didn't need to do. You then made yourself constantly available to us for guidance along the way. The end result was that we sold our house in very short order and were delighted with both the outcome and how it was accomplished.
I have to add that we were particularly touched by your sensitivity to the fact that we have a child with special needs. You immediately and compassionately walked us through the adjustments in our planning that we needed to make and we will always be grateful for your kindness in addition to your expertise and competence as a realtor.
We would be delighted to provide the strongest possible recommendation for you at any time.
With deep appreciation,

Dear Rebecca:
We want to thank you for your diligence during the preparation for, and subsequent, sale of our house last year.
When we decided to sell last spring, we knew we were entering a softening market. We chose you to represent us because of your knowledge of real estate economics and particularly because of your years of experience marketing the Wyngate neighborhood. We appreciated your advice and the gentle, but persuasive, way in which you convinced us to adjust our pricing in such a market. We valued your insight into the changing market and the eccentricities of the Bethesda market in particular.
There was never a concern, no matter how trivial, that you didn't deal with in a professional and understanding way. You were constantly in touch with us throughout the process of getting our house on the market and selling it. Your punctuality for meetings and immediate response to our phone inquiries were greatly appreciated. Through this successful selling process we developed a friendship with you that we hope continues for many years.
We would be happy to strongly recommend your services to anyone.
Sincerely,
Donald and Mary Rosenstein

Dear Rebecca,
This letter cannot possibly convey all my thanks to you in selling our place You dealt with a difficult situation and complicated closing in an unsurpassed professional manner
To sell in a mixed market is pretty hard, but your marketing strategy and expertise got us not only one but two offers in a short period of time.
We have worked with you in the past as a selling and a buying agent and each time saw terrific results. And often dealing with things of a more personal matter and doing them cheerfully only complement your nice personality
Rebecca, dear, you are number ONE in our book.
Thank you and don't overwork yourself
All the best to you

Dear Rebecca.
Once again, thank you so much for your help in selling our house. Kathy and I are indeed grateful to you for years of service and good advice. Although you don't look old enough, it was eighteen years ago that you helped us to buy our first home in Bethesd& We raised our children in that house and came to love the neighborhood very much.
When we needed more space, we of course sought your help in finding our next home. For months, you kept our needs in mind and showed us only the houses that truly met our desires. When we decided on one (about three years ago), you helped us to win a contract in a very competitive sellers market.
We appreciate the fact that you put no pressure on us to sell the first property. When the time was right for us, we believe your initial pricing advice helped to make an immediate sale in what had become a changing market.
- It only seemed natural for us to recommend you to Kathy's parents, when they decided to sell their home of fifty years in Chevy Chase. You helped make a difficult process easier by supporting their decision to relocate themselves first and then sell the house and ship the furniture and possessions. In this case, we really needed your help in preparation as well as pricing. You recommended excellent services that allowed us to prepare the house for sale, but added that hands-on (and occasionally hand holding) service that is your trademark. Again, we were delighted with the quick and qualified offer received for that property.
You have an excellent understanding of the market and the neighborhoods in this area and we would recommend your services to anyone looking to buy or sell a home. We wish you continued success, and won't hesitate to call on you again.
With fondest regards,
Dennis and Katherine Cochran

Dear Mr. Foster;
I am writing to let you know that your company will continue to be successful as long as your company can keep agents that meet the performance standards set by Rebecca Williams of your Bethesda Gateway Office.
We almost did not select Long and Foster to represent us in the sale of our home because we had heard rumors of potential ethical problems with some agents. That would have been a big mistake.
Rebecca Williams was the consummate professional. Early on, and before she got the listing, she spent time with my wife making very constructive suggestions as to how she could best prepare the house for showing. She was firm yet diplomatic about what really needed to be done to maximize the sales opportunity. She was just as clear about things that we did not need to do; thereby saving costs.
We interviewed Rebecca after interviewing two other agents from other companies. One had just sold a house for our daughter and found her a new house to buy. We liked her a lot; but we still choose Rebecca because of her knowledge of the market, business knowledge and manner, and our belief that she would do what she said she would do.
We were not disappointed. We did our part, which was to do whatever Rebecca told us to do. Rebecca did her part. She kept her eye on the market consulting with us on the list price on several occasions before it was listed so as to assure maximum exposure of the property and at least get it sold in a market that was rapidly softening; she and her support group put together a first class internet showing of the property; and she got the word out for the Open House which resulted in (we are told) more than 60 people coming through the house between 1:00--4:00pm on a cold windy Sunday afternoon.
Rebecca told my wife that her first goal was to make sure that enough people saw the house. God knows people did.
The house sold in six days from listing in a market going soft We have been looking and it seems as though no similar properties have sold. Now comes the good part. We know that Rebecca had to work hard to go through all of the offers, evaluate them, negotiate with buyer's agents and be prepared to present them to us in essentially one and one-half days after the Open House. She was up to the task.
When we arrive at your office in downtown Bethesda, Rebecca had everything organized and ready to present She carefully went through the strong and weak points of the strongest offers and gave us ample opportunity to weigh them. As a part of the process she had to address several ethical issues on which she was totally transparent.
We finally selected an offer that was $56,500 more than the asking price for our property. So' me say we were lucky given current market conditions but we say that this achievement was not luck. While it is true that the buyer just happen to be in the market needing our location at that time, one can not ignore the fact that there were other houses on the market and that we had at least six legitimate offers that far exceeded our asking price. This was the result of good professional hard work.
I don't know what it takes to keep and agent like Rebecca, but this is one that you should make sure never gets away. We sure will be recommending her to all of our friends in the Bethesda area when they have a need for her services.

Re: Ms. Rebecca Williams
Dear Ms. Dickie:
Ms. Rebecca Williams represented us in our recent home sale. We chose her because she sold us this house 13 years ago when we moved here and we liked what we saw. We have referred many, many colleagues to her when they moved into town.
This home sale was a difficult period, made stressful by our relocating, the softening in prices in the local market, and our trying to find another place to live in San Francisco ( a very competitive and expensive market). We also have a dog and Rebecca had to work around showing the house with the dog in place. My wife and I can state unequivocally that Rebecca performed superbly. She was attuned to our needs in a very broad sense, including the legalities of the home sale, the psychological aspects of what we were experiencing, and the human subtleties of pricing, showing, and closing. She is the consummate professional who deals with people in a way that is direct without being overly blunt, down-to-earth without being folksy, subtle without being insincere, and knowledgeable without being patronizing. There were many times during this period that my wife and I just looked at each other and repeated, in unison, "Boy, am I glad Rebecca is on our side". I just don't think anyone could do what she does better than she does it. I wish we could have cloned her and had her help us find a new place in San Francisco!
