Northwest Washington DC Real Estate
The Northwest Quadrant of Washington DC begins at the Capitol Building and runs out North Capitol Street, continuing on Eastern Avenue and then extending straight until it connects with a line which runs from the northernmost point of the quadrant southwest along the path of Western Avenue and then the Potomac River. The southern border of the quadrant begins at the Capitol Building and runs west along the line that West Capitol Street would follow if it existed and were extended from the Capitol west to the river.
Northwest DC is the most methodically laid out quadrant of Washington DC and the streets are laid out primarily with numbered streets running north-south and lettered streets running east-west and named streets running diagonally for the most part (with a few obvious exceptions like Georgia Avenue). This system makes it relatively easy to determine ones location in Northwest DC and how to reach ones destination.
